Mr. Paulo earned his Masters of Science in Safety at the University of Southern California, graduating with honours. His area of specialization encompassed safety system design, human performance engineering, and biomechanical analysis. Other educational credentials include post-graduate studies at the University of Calgary in anatomy and physiology, and biomechanical engineering.

He has supervised, conducted or participated in hundreds of controlled tests on products such as airbags, child restraint systems, seating components, knee bolsters, personal watercraft off-throttle steering systems and recreational boat propeller guards.

His automotive forensics career began with Transport Canada, Road and Motor Vehicle Safety, where he investigated on-scene, motor vehicle collisions. In addition to collision investigation and reconstruction, he performed hundreds of defect investigations, some of which resulted in landmark recalls within the industry.

Mr. Paulo founded Collision Analysis Ltd. in 1979 and Collision Analysis, Inc. in 1988. In 2008, he came full circle with the Transport Canada contract award to Collision Analysis Ltd. to conduct defect and selected motor vehicle collision investigations in the province of Alberta.

Mr. Paulo has extensive expert testimony experience. His evidence has been accepted on behalf of both plaintiff and defence in courts throughout Canada and the United States. He is very experienced in the area of Product Liability.
