Collision Research Investigations

As part of Transport Canada's Motor Vehicle Collision Research program, Collision Analysis is currently investigating collisions which meet the following criteria:

Investigation Criteria
  • Frontal airbag deployments in model year 2006 and newer.
  • Side impact with struck vehicle no more than 10 years old.
  • Lap-shoulder belted rear seat occupant (including booster seat) with front airbag deployment.
  • Collisions involving micro-cars, such as the smart fortwo
    or the Honda Fit.
  • Collisions involving school buses or intercity buses.
  • Airbag-induced fatalities in low-severity collisions.
  • Collisions indicative of poor performance of seat belts or child restraints.
  • Collisions involving electric/hybrid vehicles.

Please contact us regarding collisions that meet one of the above criteria. Investigations are conducted at no cost to you.
 

Safety-related Defect Investigations

Defective Tire

If you suspect a safety-related defect involving a vehicle component, tire, or child safety seat, please contact us to file a defect complaint.
